12 Motivation for joining your Work and Travel Programme
13 Dear Sir or Madam,
14 I am writing to express my interest in your Work and Travel Programme and to explain why I believe this kind of gap year is the most valuable option for me. After completing my A-levels this summer, I would like to take a year off before starting university in order to gain new experiences and broaden my view of the world. In the following letter, I would like to further outline my motivation for choosing your programme.
15 I have always been fascinated by other cultures and by the idea of discovering new places while working abroad. Travelling with your company offers the possibility of spending time in a foreign country and becoming familiar with its culture. I am especially interested in the programme you offer in New Zealand as I have always wanted to explore this country and its people. I consider that an important learning experience.
16 The main reason why I prefer a work and travel experience is that it combines personal growth with financial independence. Participants are not only able to earn their own money but also learn how to manage it responsibly. This independence, in my opinion, is one of the key skills for adult life.
17 Another important aspect is that such a programme helps you develop confidence and flexibility. Living and working in another country means facing unfamiliar situations, meeting new people, and solving problems on your own. For example, a friend of mine joined a farm project in South Africa and told me that this experience completely changed her attitude towards challenges.
18 To conclude, I am convinced that spending my gap year with Plan My Gap Year would allow me to grow personally and gain valuable international experience. I would be very grateful if you could send me further information about the application process and available opportunities.
