Just as a house needs a strong and well-planned foundation to stand firmly, a paragraph also needs a clear and logical structure to support its main idea. Each part of the paragraph, the topic sentence, the explanation, the example/evidence and the concluding sentence, works together like the foundation, the walls, and the roof of a house, giving the argument strength and coherence. Linking words/connectives help to connect the sentences and the paragraphs just like concrete.
Don’t forget that the style has to be impersonal, i.e. the sentences do not have a clear or specific subject. The opinions expressed seem general or shared by many people.
